MUCK BOOTS™ have the self-insulating, waterproof CR Flex-Foam “bootie” construction. This serves as a “neutral medium” between inside and outside temperatures, so therefore the foot and lower leg stay warm and protected in wet and cold conditions. The CR Flex-Foam bootie is lightweight, buoyant and comfortable.
MUCK BOOT™ brand boots and shoes are equipped with a 6mm removable Nitracel-EVA insole that also includes a 5mm CR Flex-Foam that provides extraordinary comfort and protection in extreme cold conditions.
MUCK BOOTS™ have a natural rubber overlay that covers the external base, which is triple reinforced in the toe area and quadruple reinforced in the heel area. The rubber used to make MUCK BOOTS™ will stay flexible for years and will not cold-crack like boots and shoes made of PVC and TPR materials. (P-Plastic)
(Note: CR Flex-Foam material is typically used to make “dry suits” and survival suits for maritime use. This material is proven to provide excellent protection in cold, wet and muddy conditions. Please exercise caution when venturing out for long periods in freezing cold temperatures.)

These boots are a standard width, but will stretch to fit as wide as EEEE
For a narrow foot thick socks will take care of any excess room. Thick socks are also good to wear for activities in extreme cold conditions, and the CR Flex-Foam bootie material is rated to sub-o temperatures during active use, and will effectively withstand freezing temperatures for up to one hour.
COMFORT OF THE COLLAR & CALF
The soft, flexible CR Flex-Foam will stretch to fit virtually any calf girth. The flexible upper may be turned down to allow hands-free removal and to vent humidity in a warmer working atmosphere.
MUCK BOOTS™ COMPARED TO THINSULATE™ AND/OR GORE-TEX®
A. Thinsulate™ is made by a 3M Company and is used in work boots and hiking shoes to resist cold temperatures. It is glued into the toe area of a shoe or boot or laminated to the whole shoe lining. * It is not a waterproof material.
B. Gore-Tex® is a breathable, waterproof membrane but it is not an insulating material. It is usually used for foul-weather apparel and premium leather footwear.
C. Muck Boots™ has the CR Flex-Foam, which is both waterproof and self-insulating.
They provide greater insulating properties than all non-specialty temperature-control substrates. They are lined with a thin moisture-control material that takes care of humidity and perspiration. The top collar can also be folded down to vent heat and humidity from the inner boot.
A. Easy clean up with water or soap and water.
B. The rubber upper can be conditioned with a wax polish, Armorall or liquid detergent.
Using conditioners on the outsole areas may cause them to become slick in wet or icy conditions.
C. Sealant found in hardware stores may be used to repair the natural rubber. Goop-brand marine sealant is recommended by MBC. You will need to clean the area with mineral spirits before applying the sealant. Wipe sealant to a thin film, and let sealant dry for 24 hours.
